Well, this is a good question. And let me start with the expression ‘solution’ since we do believe that we are an integrated solutions company whose technologies always provide value added solutions to our clients, as well as establishing new benchmarks in the industry, which is in fact what makes us stand out. I would proudly say that, all of the technologies we use to spot and benefit from an oil reservoir throughout its oil wells lives are our own patents and unique to us, from the initial geo-physical surveys phase, passing by well construction phase, monitoring the reservoir performance, and getting the best out of it using our intelligent production systems, to continuously developing the fields through our cutting edge software packages, solutions and specialized studies, all in a safe manner and an optimal way.
Definitely yes. Sudan has always been a focus for us in the region since it had proved itself a big potential in the area that needed to be classified as an independent geo-market in our geographical structure since we entered the market. Considering the transformation Sudan now is going through, this focus will definitely be emphasized in this completely new era for the sector and for Schlumberger in Sudan.
Well, our highest priorities are totally aligned with the oil and gas sector’s short and long term plans.
The announced short term plan is to increase the current production with an increment of 15k bbl by end of the ongoing 2021 and we are very enthusiastic to significantly contribute to achieving this target as a partner of choice to the sector’s strategy planners and to our clients in Sudan, especially considering the importance of the O&G sector as a main pillar in reviving the economy during such challenging times.
As for the part about our MOU with National Upstream Solutions in Sudan, it is also driven by our determination to align our business models with the sector’s strategy and long term plan to increase the local content, strengthen the national contractors and eventually nationalize the oilfield services industry in Sudan.
Well, operating anywhere is normally associated with some challenges that are specific to the marketplace we work in, however, in Schlumberger challenges is a part of our everyday normal life and we are confident that none of the possible constraints is going to be insurmountable.
Schlumberger has trained and provided exceptional work experience to the Sudanese workforce, where they have become global international employees, will Schlumberger continue such workforce development programs in Sudan?
This is what we do wherever and whenever we conduct business and Sudan is no exception, since we look at it as a part of our contribution to the development of the local society, the youth and the human resources in the country in general, which is a thing that we are ethically committed to.
