The Office of Sudan Affairs (OSA) hosted a commercial diplomacy event at the U.S. Embassy in Cairo, bringing together 35 Sudanese entrepreneurs, Young African Leaders Initiative (YALI) alumni and emerging business leaders to discuss economic partnerships and investment opportunities.
The event featured two panel discussions moderated by OSA, with participation from a senior Foreign Commercial Service officer at the U.S. Embassy in Cairo, established Sudanese business leaders with experience working with American companies, and representatives of Sudanese international business networks.

Opening the event, Chargé d’Affaires Jonathan Howard highlighted the importance of Sudanese entrepreneurs and their potential contribution to Sudan’s economic development.
Discussions focused on strengthening commercial relationships between Sudanese and American businesses, exploring investment opportunities and facilitating connections between entrepreneurs and international business networks.

The gathering provided Sudanese entrepreneurs with an opportunity to engage with U.S. commercial expertise, exchange business experiences and examine potential areas for cooperation.
The event also highlighted the role of entrepreneurship, private-sector development and international business partnerships in supporting Sudan’s long-term economic growth.
